For visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, to whom this site offers its German-language content, the GDPR / UK GDPR also applies. Where the privacy law of another country applies to us by its own terms, we honour the rights it grants; this policy is not a voluntary submission to laws that do not apply to us.

2. What we collect and why
Enquiry forms: name, email, phone and the details you submit, used solely to answer your enquiry and follow up (legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)/(f); POPIA s11(1)(a)/(f)). Form submissions are transmitted via FormSubmit and delivered to our email. We do not use this data for marketing without your consent.
Age confirmation & preferences: your age confirmation, language and cookie choices are stored locally in your browser only (localStorage); nothing is sent to us.
Server logs: our hosting provider may record IP address, browser type and pages visited for security and operation of the site (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Web fonts: fonts load from Google Fonts (your IP is transmitted to Google when fonts load); in the production build fonts will be self-hosted to avoid this transfer.
3. Cookies & analytics (Cookie Policy)
Essential (no consent needed): localStorage entries for your age confirmation ("bAge") and your cookie choice ("bConsent"). These identify no one and expire when you clear your browser data.
Analytics (only with your consent): with your opt-in we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC, USA) with IP anonymisation and Google Consent Mode v2. Until you click "Accept all", analytics is fully disabled and no analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Privacy & Cookie Choices in the footer. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Global Privacy Control: we honor the GPC browser signal; if your browser sends it, non-essential cookies are automatically declined.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use targeted advertising cookies.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your matter and for statutory retention periods (e.g. German tax law: up to 10 years for business correspondence), then deleted. Analytics data, where consented, is retained for a maximum of 14 months.
5. Your rights
Where the law that applies to you grants them, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. We do not sell or share personal information for behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, contact us at the address in §1; we respond within the timeframe required by the law applicable to your request (e.g. one month under the GDPR).
You may complain to the supervisory authority responsible for us or for you: South Africa's Information Regulator (inforeg.org.za); for EU/EEA visitors, Germany's LfD Niedersachsen or your local data protection authority; for the UK, the ICO.
6. International transfers
This website is operated from South Africa; enquiries may also be handled by our affiliated company in Germany, so your data may be processed in both countries. Transfers out of the EEA/UK rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses; transfers out of South Africa comply with POPIA s72. We limit all transfers to what is necessary.
7. Third-party sites
Buy buttons lead to our shops at b-distillery.co.za (Shopify) and alter-schwede.net (Gambio), bookings to vacation-bookings.com, and video links to YouTube (we use youtube-nocookie.com click-to-load embeds, so YouTube sets no cookies until you press play). Each has its own privacy policy.
8. Minors
This website is intended only for adults of legal drinking age in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age, and no part of this site is directed at children.
9. Changes
We will update this policy as our practices or the law change and adjust the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.

4. Wie lange wir sie speichern
Anfragekorrespondenz wird so lange aufbewahrt, wie es zur Bearbeitung Ihres Anliegens und für gesetzliche Aufbewahrungsfristen erforderlich ist (z. B. deutsches Steuerrecht: bis zu 10 Jahre für Geschäftskorrespondenz), danach gelöscht. Analysedaten werden, sofern eingewilligt, maximal 14 Monate aufbewahrt.
5. Ihre Rechte
Soweit das für Sie geltende Recht sie gewährt, haben Sie das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung oder Widerspruch gegen die Verarbeitung Ihrer personenbezogenen Daten, auf Datenübertragbarkeit und auf jederzeitigen Widerruf Ihrer Einwilligung. Wir verkaufen oder teilen keine personenbezogenen Daten für verhaltensbasierte Werbung. Zur Ausübung eines Rechts kontaktieren Sie uns unter der Adresse in §1; wir antworten innerhalb der nach dem für Ihre Anfrage geltenden Recht vorgeschriebenen Frist (z. B. ein Monat nach DSGVO).

Diese Website wird aus Südafrika betrieben; Anfragen können auch von unserem verbundenen Unternehmen in Deutschland bearbeitet werden, sodass Ihre Daten in beiden Ländern verarbeitet werden können. Übermittlungen aus dem EWR/dem Vereinigten Königreich stützen sich auf Angemessenheitsbeschlüsse oder Standardvertragsklauseln; Übermittlungen aus Südafrika erfolgen im Einklang mit POPIA s72. Wir beschränken alle Übermittlungen auf das Notwendige.

Diese Website richtet sich nur an Erwachsene im gesetzlichen Mindestalter für den Alkoholkonsum in ihrem Land. Wir erheben wissentlich keine Daten von Personen unter diesem Alter, und kein Teil dieser Seite richtet sich an Kinder.
9. Änderungen
Wir aktualisieren diese Erklärung, wenn sich unsere Praktiken oder die Rechtslage ändern, und passen das obige Datum an. Wesentliche Änderungen werden auf dieser Seite hervorgehoben.
