Stikstof is a Cape brandewyn we craft under contract, and it wears its Afrikaans heart on the label. Made for people who take their brandy seriously and themselves rather less so.
This is the Hoofseun, the first edition. Three years in oak, bottled at 40% and, as the bottle puts it, made in the Cape and not on every shelf.
Stikstof Brandewyn
Light fruit on the nose, with soft pear, dried apricot, vanilla and toasted oak.
On the palate it is smooth and neatly dry: gentle stone fruit, a whisper of raisin, light spice and a warm oak note that does not try to take over the whole conversation. The finish is clean, warm, and just long enough that someone starts calling it our bottle.
Stikstof is developed and distilled under contract at Blomendahl and available through the B-Shop South Africa. 40% vol, 750 ml. Not for sale to persons under the legal drinking age. Enjoy responsibly.
