A proven 200L design
At the heart of every setup is our own 200L custom-designed still, designed by Benedikt Blomendahl himself. The very same design already runs in our own distilleries in South Africa and Germany, and in projects abroad, one design, proven on three continents. If it can make Double Gold gin in Cape Town, it can make yours anywhere.
Compact, capable and proven, it could be the first still in your distillery too, and when you are ready for more, we also build larger sizes and fully custom installations to match your volumes and your vision.

From first call to first spirit
Every distillery we build follows the same proven path, and we are on the ground with you at every step, from the first conversation to the day your spirit starts flowing. Training happens hands-on at our Strand distillery, on the same stills that make our award-winners, and where a project calls for it, we fly out to train your team on site, exactly as we did in Ghana. Where the design lives, every day
The proof is in our own two houses, on two continents. What we design and build for you, we run ourselves, day in and day out.
Our flagship distillery in Strand is built around a 1000L custom Kothe copper potstill, alongside Benedikt's own 200L gin still and a 20L laboratory still. It is where our award-winning gins, vodka, brandy and rum are made, and where hands-on training takes place on the same equipment we build for our clients.
Our German house runs the same 200L custom design at Marschstraße 12, under one roof with Blomendahl GmbH and the historic Kohlhoff wine and liqueur house.
A turnkey distillery in Accra
For Bella Afrik in Accra we delivered a complete turnkey setup: our custom-designed 200L still, manufactured to Benedikt's specification, shipped, installed and commissioned on site, with full recipe development and hands-on training. Benedikt flew up personally to set it up and get the first spirit flowing, the same on-site partnership we bring to every project.

Here, FJ Blomendahl is pictured at our South African distillery in 2009, alongside his friend who runs the Lübbehusen Malt Destill, a respected German whisky distillery, who came to visit as we were setting it up. That friendship became a build. For The Lübbehusen Malt Destill in Emstek, Germany, we designed and installed a complete production distillery: a 2,500L custom-built copper pot still, fermentation tanks and a full production setup for both whisky and gin.
